The Wolfstone Curse

Hello World! The book I'll be reviewing today is The Wolfstone Curse, a book by Justin Richards and is coming out next month!

Welcome to Wolfstone, where dark secrets lurk in the shadows and strange beasts roam the land. Can teenagers Peter and Carys survive the Wolfstone curse? Read on if you dare.

The Wolfstone Curse is a interesting book because unlike so many others the main character is around 18 years old. This adds more detail because unlike a book like Percy Jackson he understands what is happening   and is allowed to travel half-way across the world to Russia on his own. This was a great book because I've never read a book before it officially came out so you can see what the author wants in the book which he hasn't already put in like pictures and the cover which looks to be brilliant. This review will be also put up at www.lovereading.co.uk/book/9781848775510/isbn/The-Wolfstone-Curse-by-Justin-Richards.html

The Last Wild

The Last Wild is a book by Piers Torday. It`s about horrible future where there are no animals except for insects. This boy who is dumb ( Meaning he can`t talk) suddenly hears a voice at lunch. It came from a cockroach and he finds out he can talk to animals. Rapidly he leads a variety of wild animals, mainly a Stag, wolf-cub and a cockroach called Genral towards the city which hunts them to find a cure for a devastating plauge which only affects animals which is called red-eye.
I enjoyed this book because it was interresting to read and gave an insight to people who can`t easily communicate with other people. I'd reallly love to read a sequel if one came out and I'd reccomend this book  to anyone I know. The characters were interesting and my favourite character was the Stag because he was intelligent and wise. The point of view was the boy, this was good because it showed the world through his experiences.

If  you want to check my schools books, Go here: Carnigie

Midwinterblood

This is a book on the CARNEGIE SHORTLIST

Midwinterblood is a fantasy about well... Something I can't quite explain fully.

The book covers 7 times in history. In each part it is set in a different month. The interesting thing about this book that you'll notice is that in each part the main characters are often called an adaptation of Eric and Merle. The book covers the future-2073,
the present/past-2011, 1944, 1902, 1848, 10th Century and Time unknown. Without revealing too much, the book focuses on a moment of which a king was sacrificed and was torn from the queen..

I read this book as part of the Carnegie shortlist. It was fun to read and has an interesting story-line.I could easily imagine myself in any of those situations and I understood the plot.

This is a book I'd recommend because it`s interesting and it challenges the brain.Once I'd started it was a difficulty putting it down.

Oblivion

Hey Guys, Ben here and the book I'll be talking about is Oblivion by Anthony Horowitz. Not the game but the book next to this here!

I'm going to assume that you've read at least one on the series,  if not...

Oblivion is part 5 in a five book series called 'The Power of Five' The whole series is about 5 teenagers,   with supernatural powers. Matt, the leader of The Five can move things with his mind. Pedro is a healer. Scott and Jamie are twins and can control people with their thoughts. They can also read other people's thoughts. Last but not least there is Scarlett, who can control the weather. Together these 5 teenagers must A)
Find each other, B) Stay alive and C) Defeat Chaos, who is hell-bent on causing the end of the world as we know it. (Please listen to the end)
I really liked this book because I have read the others in the series ( Ravens Gate, Evil Star, Night-rise and Necropolis) and I wanted to finish the series. I remember looking forward to this coming out in 2008! One thing I don't like about this book is that it doesn't list chapters, only parts so yeah...

I'll put another review up soon when I've read about 50 other books to pick my fave!
Bye!
